There are many experts willing to help people learn how to surf the web, how to design for the web (and yes, I am one of those people as well), but there are very few willing to put forth the effort to help others learn how to be smart consumers - especially when it comes to web designers.

Satisfying Work
This series focuses upon the interests of the average worker.
There is a quote I have always loved that speaks on this:

Many of us - especially those who aren't among the "movers and shakers" - occasionally can feel like we are just filling a spot - that we could be replaced by a monkey or a robot very easily.
These articles will focus on ways to keep those feelings from overwhelming us. Because the moment we start focusing on feeling useless or unnecessary, in that moment we are starting down the road of a self-fulfilled prophecy.
I hope that these articles will help someone feel more fulfilled in what they do - no matter what they do.

Tutorials
I have also written a few tutorials to help those who have some office experience learn how to create websites. Unlike many Web Design tutorial sites, I am focusing not only on the structure and coding of a web site, but also on the look and feel. With so many sites out on the web, there are some design choices that brand you inexorably as an amateur. I hope to point out some of those design issues, and encourage a more user-focused design.
The balancing act between structure and style is a difficult one - but it can be done. And I hope to help you do it.
