The Challenge:
One assignment for our Illustration class was to redesign an existing product label - I took this one step further for extra credit, and redesigned an entire product line.
The Solution
We were offered the chance to redesign any existing product, and expected to research our product fully. I knew I wanted to create a piece that was within the cosmetic and beauty industry, but did not have a specific product in mind. As I researched the industry - specifically focusing on organic items - I stumbled across the Asclepius Medi Spa, who also offers Talismae Mineral Cosmetics. Their product labels are simple, and I felt could use a bit of pizzaz.
Since there is a focus on wholistic health, I created the background of each piece to reflect that. It also gave continuity between each of the products. Yet there is variety based on the main ingredients of each piece. In presenting the redesigned product line, I also chose to reflect the same background to pull all of them together.
