I require a deposit equal to 50% of the estimated fee or $500.00 (whichever is greater) before I commence work on your designs. You will receive a formal proposal and estimate based on your answers in the Request for Proposal, as well as any further discussion I may have with you. You will also receive a formal contract along with that proposal.
Maintenance:
One of the primary requirements involved in keeping a web site fresh and alive is the maintenance work done on it. You do not want your customers to get the feeling that your site is not current, or that it is meant as little more than a static “brochure.” The owner of a web presence must be constantly vigilant to ensure that their links are current, their articles are fresh and news-worthy, and that their site gives off a feeling of community.
I include three (3) months of free maintenance with every site I design. I also offer a referral program — If any client refers my services to another party, and I ultimately establish a contract with them, I will provide the referring client with a free month of maintenance service. For those clients who regularly refer other clients to me, this can result in continuous maintenance at no cost.
If you are simply looking for someone to manage your website for you, I bill on a monthly basis, depending upon hours spent maintaining your site. Management of your website is charged at $30.00 per hour.
